Introduction to sensitivity and uncertainty analysis

Sensitivity and uncertainty analysis are first defined then both local and gloabal sensitivity analysis are introduced highlighting the advantages and disadvantages of each approach. Different applications of sensitivity analysis are presented particularly for factor prioritization and factor fixing. A brief introduction is presented for the screening method using elementary effects and variance based methods used in global sensitivity analysis. Practical examples will be used to illustrate the importance and the informations provided by sensitivity and uncertainty analysis.
